I doubt whether it will work to split up one e-discussion in 5 when even
splitting of MF from MD didn't work until now.
If you want it to work, I'd say:
1) leave MD as it is,
2) inform people on the website (not on MD) about the possibility to apply
for an invitation for the other fora,
3) invite others off-list,
4) agree with them how often they will approximately contribute (to
guarantee enough input) and remind them if they lapse and
5) no moderation or monitoring except for your own participation, because it
would cost you too much time (in addition to 4)
