[Smt-talk] Pieces contrary to the minor/major = sad/non-sad stereotype

I wonder if the sad texts in major are sometimes ironic. I've always heard Schubert's "Sehnsucht" D 310 this way--a modally mixed and tonally conflicted song fitting ironically within a solidly major framework. For the irony to work, the stereotype would have to apply.
