Departing from a Wordsworth poem that questions the value of rational modernism as a departiure from the (wilder) natural world, Burstein's analysis of Mendelssohn's "Venetian Gondolied" considers an analyst's approach to its play between unresolved musical contradictions and structural regularity; it's entitled "Of Species Counterpoint, Gondola Songs, and Sordid Boons."</div><div><br></div><br><div>
