However, many of them turn out to be V7 in a new key. There is one that resolves to V (parallel fifths included). In my dissertation, I label this as “Charlotte’s Theme” (Reel VI, Part I, measures 17 and 18). This is the scene in which Charlotte and Jerry are saying ‘goodbye” at the airport in Rio de Janeiro. The cue is modulating from B-flat to A. The V7 in B-flat resolves as the Ger+6 in A, directly to V.
