<div>The lyric/dramatic/epic trichotomy informs many approaches to genre in poetry, so it wouldn't surprise me if analogies have occasionally been used in music scholarship. One source I know of that explicitly discusses "lyrical time" is Raymond Monelle (2000),
The Sense of Music, pp. 90ff. That seems kind of recent, but the sources he makes contact with are from the phenomenological literature rather than music scholarship, so who knows, maybe it is his coinage within our field. Obviously, people like Jonathan
Kramer and even A.B. Marx deal with similar concepts, but with different types of terminology.</div>
