[SMT-PAIG] areas of interest

Hi Daphne,

This sounds wonderful to me. Just one further thought, stemming from the discussion on Friday: I wonder if each profile could include (optionally) a link to a Dropbox folder for research outputs. Each member could then add an up-to-date list of publications to his/her Dropbox folder, along with PDFs of recent conference papers, forthcoming articles, dissertation chapters, and other unpublished work that might be of interest to other PAIG members. I think the responsibility for keeping this material up to date should fall on each member. Thanks for getting the ball rolling on this!

Alan

Hello all,

Many thanks to Ed for his great leadership.

I’d like to ask how much interest there is such a listing (brief descriptions of P&A research interests, recent and current projects)?

I would be happy to collect and organize this information, if someone is able to take on the nitty-gritty of putting it online on the PAIG wordpress site.

Tentatively, my thoughts for information to collect are:
name, institution, position (this would include students, of course)
e-mail
photo
2-5 sentences describing research interests, recent publications, and current projects
3 keywords or keyword phrases

I would welcome (and hope to hear from) those at all stages of interest, from those with nascent interests to those with a long history of work in the field.

Thoughts?
Please do chime in, both on whether you’re interested, and on the proposed template. We’d like to know your opinions!

Thanks,
Daphne

Thanks all for great gatherings in Vancouver.

A question, and also for Nathan, editor of the PAIG blog:
How would you feel about using the Works in Progress section (or a similar section) for people to post 2-4 sentences about their current research interests and projects in performance and analysis, similar to what a verbal introduction might have done in person at the conference?

it would be great to hear about what others are working on, and to “meet” them virtually.
It could even be possible for informal working groups or scholarly exchanges to come out of this.

I know that Ed is looking into how one might subscribe to the blog<https://smtpaig.wordpress.com/> so that would make it easy to keep up with new information.

Daphne
