[Smt-talk] Frantonality

Thanks to an off-list comment by Reinhart Frosch I tend to envisage  
the following association:
Although the tune is not "frantic" at all (rather well-behaved and  
easy going) it may refer to the "frantic tonality" of Harlem Jazz,  
especially "jungle style" (Ellington has a "frantic fantasy"). Maybe  
Garner refers to the particular role of the minor key in Harlem Jazz  
(serving a kind of exotic "Sturm und Drang" topos).
