[Smt-talk] Music Theory text opionions

Hello Collective Wisdom,

We are thinking of changing to Techniques and Materials of Tonal Music by Thomas Benjamin, Michael Horvit and Robert Nelson (Oct 17, 1997)

I am overseas and waiting to get access to a digital examination copy from the publisher, but I have not looked closely at the book for several years. Our program is small and many of our students are poorly prepared. I'm pretty sure they could not handle A&S. If you have used the Benjamin book recently, please let me know your thoughts, pro and con.

I realize there was some discussion of a similar topic recently, but I would like more information if possible.
