Dear colleagues,
Peter¹s email reminds me that I¹ve been meaning to send along the following
information:
Just in case it¹s useful to anyone else, I¹ve posted a large quantity of
resources for theory fundamentals on my website:
http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/johnito/music_theory/fundamentals/FundMain.ht
ml
There are video lectures on youTube, pdf handouts, and a link to Gene
Biringer¹s worksheets.
I put all of this up for an in-house audience, as part of an attempt to save
class time. But though these are somewhat rough materials, I thought they
might be helpful to some of you (e.g. as a resource for a student who misses
a class). The one thing that might rise above that level is a visual
demonstration of the relationship between scales that are neighbors on the
circle of fifths, found in the first part of video lesson 5 (some day I hope
to make a more concise version...).
Best wishes,
John
