[Smt-talk] Edward Laufer

The following message is sent on behalf of David Beach:

I regret to inform the members of SMT of the passing of Edward Laufer after a prolonged illness. He was a wonderful friend to many of us, a great teacher to many others, and a giant among the community of Schenkerian scholars. He will be greatly missed, and plans are already underway to honor Edward through a volume of essays and a special issue of the Journal of Schenkerian Studies. More information will be forthcoming.
