[Smt-talk] I-II-IV as a progression

Dear Colleagues,
there is a progression (typical to early jazz like in Earl Hines) #ivø
- iv - I (which presumably is a variation of IV - iv - I) where we
also have a voice leading #4 - 4 - 3.
Is there any theoretical connection to the progression under
discussion? On the one hand one could accept the #4 as a fundament of
the (half-diminished) first chord. But on the other hand the
connection would be more contiguous with a silently assumed 2 in the a
fundament. And under this assumption we would end up close to V/V -
iv - I.
